We are a group of fun loving Alumni, former students and affiliates from the Monrovia College & Industrial Training Institute in Monrovia, Liberia.

Formerly located on Camp Johnson Road, the school is now located on Clay Street opposite the Monrovia Demonstration Elementary School. The school's mascot is a 'Monkey'.

We are commonly called MC, Monkey Camp, or the Monkeys.

Realizing that the mission to rebuild the school to its pre-war status was not only the responsibility of the Administration, but also on us,  "LOYAL WE SHALL EVER BE".

Important Chronicle Developments

Projects completed between 2010 and 2014:

  • Renovated the Monrovia College school building on Clay Street

  • Established and funded a modern computer and science lab

  • Supplied the school with updated classroom equipment like whiteboards, etc.

  • Funded and installed air conditioners in all the office spaces and computer lab

  • Purchased and installed a 65 K.V.A generator on the school campus

  • To ensure transparency and higher educational standard at the school, the M.C.A.A.A subsidized the school’s president’s and several teachers’ salaries. The Association also held US-based teachers' training courses at the school to ensure that teachers' credentials were up to standard.

2015 and 2016:

  • In 2015, the M.C.A.A.A had its most successful reunion in history raising close to $30,000. The reunion was hosted by the Philadelphia/Delaware Chapter, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

  • The Association was blessed the following year with Bishop Aspirant Rev. Dr. Keturah York Cooper, as its guest speaker at the 2016 Reunion in Newark, New Jersey. Rev. Dr. York-Cooper invested in countless M.C.A.A.A members as a teacher. She is also the daughter of our beloved late great “Sweet Mother”, Dr. Louise C. York, President, Monrovia College (1974 to 1985).

  • To date, we remain strong as we strive to grow and continue to support the school with scholarships and subsidizing the president’s and some teachers’ salaries. We are incorporated as a National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in the state of New Jersey and a Registered 501 (c) 3, a not-for-profit organization with the Internal Revenue Services. Ninety-nine and a half percent of all donations to the MCAAA come from our beloved members and fundraising programs that are held throughout the year by several different chapters. One hundred percent of all donations to the MCAAA is tax deductible.

  • Please consider donating today to a worthy cause.
